IT Health Checks differ from ‘Vulnerability Assessments’ or ‘Penetration Testing’ services, in that they not only highlight possible vulnerabilities but also cover wider general network, IT and best practise issues and recommendations for remediation.
IT health checks identify vulnerabilities in IT systems and networks which may compromise the confidentiality, integrity or availability of information held on that IT system.
Aimed at reducing network downtime and exposure to threats, attacks and poor configuration / performance, Network Health Check Services are ideally designed to provide regular reviews of network activity.
What to expect
An initial network audit, including documentation, summarsing findings on your network, monthly performance checks, diagnostics, configuration checks and settings on various elements of the network. Health checks are reported monthly in both graphical and text based document showing the performance, faults and vulnerabilities.
Independent assessments performed on a regular basis, for compliance purposes or just for peace of mind.

Security Health Check
Assess your current setup and advise on improvements. Recommendations on best practices to optimise your security policy, policy enforcement, outbreak management, and disaster recovery.
CESG / The IT Health Check Service (CHECK) / CREST (ethical security testing).
Network Health Check / Assessment
Network and systems infrastructure, external and internal applications, change management processes and security policies/ procedures. Your lead engineer will walk you through our analysis and prioritised recommendations.

Storage Assessment
Optimise and future-proof your storage infrastructure
Capture system-level impacts of caching, database structures, dedup, compression, BOYD, and integrity of back-up replication across all block, file, and object storage elements.
Perform a health check on existing data storage (SAN) environment.
EMC Clariion, Hitachi (HDS) AMS, HP EVA, Sun Storage Tek 6540, 6x20, IBM DS4000, etc. This Health check service will provide information on customer’s existing configuration and highlight any specific areas of concern. This will also check for possible reclamation of storage and recommend upgrades on software’s / firmware’s if required.

Comprehensive audit of a single backup environment. A report will be produced at the end the health check that would detail the findings of the health check and list recommendations to address areas of concern.
Preventing Backup Failures
Identification of incorrect configurations and bad practices that could potentially cause backups to fail.
Reduced Backup Window
Identify backups that take longer to run and analyse the root cause for this.
Identify Bottlenecks
Understand bottlenecks in your current backup infrastructure that could slow down backups.
Vendors
Symantec Netbackup, Legato Networker, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), HP Data Protector, Commvault environments, and more.
