Turn Recovery Time Objectives into Recovery Assurances
Backup and Disaster Recovery Assurance is the ability to test and certify the protection of your key applications (e.g. Exchange, SQL, SAP, SharePoint, Oracle) from down time and disaster.
Traditionally DR testing was something that was done once, maybe four times a year. When the solution is install, there are only a few things you need to do;
1. tell it what virtual machines / services you want to backup from the primary site (for example, perhaps Microsoft SharePoint)
2. tell it what RPO and RTO you want to set for SharePoint
3. the management controller will then go into the storage of the secondary site and grab a snapshot of the SharePoint application and then mount it inside the sandbox in the DR site.
4. you can then run application level tests against the application (SharePoint)
5. If the recovery tests are successful, the solution creates a CRO (Certified Recovery Point) of the full tested snapshot that you can fail over to in case of disaster.
6. If your tests fail or take longer than your RPO or RTO times, then an alert is sent back to administrators or management, so that it can be addressed before it become critical to the business.

How does DR assurance work?
Simplified, on the left side you have your primary / production environment, the virtual architecture, with your VMs running on top of a hypervisor. Beneath the hypervisor you would have some form of SAN storage.
The SAN data would be replicated across to your secondary or DR site.
